End of Tenancy Checklist
Moving day is quickly approaching, and you want to make sure your landlord has no excuse to keep your deposit. However, the prospect of having everything spotless fills you with dread.
As with most things in life, having a system helps…and our end-of-tenancy checklist is just the thing for the job!
So gather your cleaning supplies, and let’s get to work!
Bedroom
- Remove cobwebs from ceiling and walls
- Wipe accumulated dust and dirt from the door, handles and frames, including tops
- Wipe down cornices, curtain rails and coving
- Vacuum/dust both sides of curtains & blinds
- Wipe off the dust from skirting boards, dado, and picture rails
- Clean cupboards and wardrobes inside and out. Wipe down tops and carcasses
- Clean behind and under furniture
- Clean and polish internal windows. Wipe down sills and ledges
- Wipe and polish mirrors, pictures, and other wall hangings
- Dust off and polish all light fittings and lampshades
- Remove all dust and marks from radiators
- Clean plugs, sockets and light switches and fittings
- Vacuum and clean both sides of the mattress
- Vacuum carpets/vacuum and mop hard floors
- Gently wipe down any marks or spillages from the walls
Shower Room
- Clean and polish internal windows. Wipe down sills and ledges
- Clean skirting boards and remove dust from any other woodwork
- Remove dust from the extractor fan and wipe down
- Clean all plugs and light switches
- Remove any mould from tiles, then wash down thoroughly
- Remove limescale from shower enclosure, fittings and glass
- Clean and disinfect toilet, both inside and out
- Remove limescale from sink and clean
- Polish taps
- Polish any other stainless steel fixtures and fittings
- Clean and polish towel rail
- Clean and polish mirrors
- Wipe down shelving and surfaces
- Clean cupboards, inside and out
- Vacuum the floor, then mop and disinfect
- Gently wipe down any marks or spillages from the walls
Kitchen Allocation
- Remove any items remaining from the Kitchen Cupboard Unit, thoroughly clean and degrease the interior and exterior
- Remove any items remaining on the relevant shelf/drawer in the fridge, thoroughly clean the section
- Remove any items remaining on the relevant shelf/drawer in the freezer, thoroughly clean the section
